Under the leadership of the Student Council, the community of Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School and St. Mary’s Academy donated over 8,000 lbs. (4 Tons!) to the Northern Westchester Community Center.
Fr. Vaillancourt blessed the food at the community Mass of Thanksgiving on Monday and on Tuesday, the student council, staff and volunteers from Salem Landscaping and Crystal Blue loaded the beds of 5 pick-up trucks and delivered the food to the center in Katonah.
At the center, the food was weighed and put on the shelves where it will help support the surrounding communities of Northern Westchester during the upcoming holiday season.
The center employees were impressed with the diligence of our student representatives.
We are grateful to all of our students, parents, faculty and staff and the support of Salem Landscaping and Crystal Blue for making this another successful food drive that supports the needs of our local community.
